COVID-19 Research

Honors Experience #3

During the end of my second and very start of my third years at UC, I decided to complete a phenomenological research study on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on student academics and life. As a student who obviously lived through the pandemic, I was essentially front row to witness the impacts that the pandemic had on such a vulnerable group of individuals. Students, as a community, went through a great deal of difficulty during lockdowns and isolation, as many people in the world did. The pandemic provided so much for students to reflect on, and getting the chance to interview fellow students for this research revealed how many different perspectives on one major event exists in even just one college campus. Completing this experience revealed a lot to me in terms of how shared experiences can bring people together over their similarities and differences, and I was thankful to have had the opportunity to complete it.
